Please join us for a weekend of workshops at Yoga Focus. All workshops are Open Level, but no new beginners please. You are welcome to take more than one workshop since the topics vary. Please register early; some workshops may fill and each needs a minimum to run. For questions, please email Karen or leave a message for her at (734) 668-7730.
EASE IN FORWARD BENDS
FRIDAY, OCT. 25 6:00 - 8:00 PM ALICIA ROWE FEE: $40.00
Forward bending poses can be active to improve flexibility in the legs, hips, and spine. These same poses can be practiced with supportive props to refresh and quiet the mind. This workshop includes strategies for both standing and seated forward bends and a handout on sequencing these poses effectively. For students with six months of Iyengar yoga experience.
YOGA ON THE GO 2
SATURDAY, OCT. 26 1:30-3:30 PM MARLENE MCGRATH FEE: $40.00
In this workshop, short yoga posture sequences will be taught for practice at home or away. One will be suitable for practice after sitting at a desk or in a car to address forward head and shoulder positions: one will address stiff and/or sore lower back and hips, and one will be a short restorative sequence. Handout with posture sequences will be included.
BETTER BALANCE 2
SUNDAY, OCT. 27 9:30-11:30 AM KAREN UFER FEE: $40.00
This workshop will build upon as well as feature different poses than the June workshop. The loss of balance and recovery of balance are often about our ability to move and reestablish position. So this workshop will focus more on hips and knees. A short restorative series also will be presented to help with occasional situational vertigo. All levels are welcome but please do not sign up if you are just recovering from a vertigo episode.
SUNDAY, OCT. 27 1:30-3:30 PM DAVID UFER FEE: $40.00
Shoulders are designed to give a range of movement to arms, neck and back but need the stability to support that movement. This workshop will present a series of poses for home practice that enhance shoulder movement, strength and stability with attention to individual limitations. The workshop is open to all levels but students with recent surgeries or who are in PT should sign up when the workshop is offered at a later date.
