At Yoga Focus Collective, we are committed to providing you with a supportive environment, expert instruction, and a wide range of classes and workshops. Whether you're a seasoned yoga practitioner looking to refine your practice or a curious beginner eager to dive into this transformative discipline, our dedicated instructors with decades of experience in Iyengar yoga will guide, encourage and inspire you every step of the way.

The study and practice of asanas or postures is foundational in the system of yoga. The categories of yoga postures include: seated, standing, twisting, forward bends, backbends, inversion, and restoratives. Each class we teach is a unique and intelligently sequenced set of postures often with a theme or uniting action or principle. Our system of yoga uses props as developed by BKS Iyengar to maintain proper alignment, allowing for a gradual progression in the poses and the cultivation of body awareness and mind-body connection.

Yoga Focus Collective acknowledges that everyone comes to the practice of yoga with different abilities and experience, and that modifications and variations of the postures are essential to accommodate these differences. Our method of instruction and use of yoga props can eliminate the notion of competition or judgment creating an atmosphere where practitioners can focus on their personal growth and self-study. The yoga props we use serve as invaluable tools that promote proper alignment, self-awareness, and a deeper connection to the practice. Our teaching style and use of props make the practice accessible, safe, and beneficial for practitioners of all backgrounds and abilities.

Our range of classes serve a wide variety of yoga students. We begin before birth with Prenatal and Postnatal yoga classes for the childbearing years, and continue with a range of classes such as our Basic, Supported, and Open Level yoga classes. We also teach classes in Pranayama, which is the fourth limb of yoga, the study of the breath. Our workshops include topics such as: Restorative Yoga, Yoga for Neck and Shoulders, Yoga for Bone Health, Yoga poses for the Low Back , Ease in the Knees Yoga Workshop, Yoga for Gardeners, Yoga and Your Pelvic Floor, Prenatal & Birth Partner Yoga.
