Props that we use include: mats, folded blankets, bolsters, blocks, straps, wall ropes, backless and armless folding chairs, slant planks, sandbags, and more. The photos on this page show some examples. Categories of postures include: seated, standing, twisting, forward bending, backbending, inversions, and restorative.

pranayama:

This hour long class is open to all who have some yoga experience. Explore the practice of breath awareness and restorative asanas. The science of pranayama (yogic breathing) is the fourth limb of yoga practice, and an important element of the study of yoga. As explained in the yoga text, Hatha Yoga Pradipika, “the breath is directly connected to the mind. Controlling the breath can bring peace and stability to the person who practices pranayama.”

OPEN LEVEL:

This class has a mixed level of student experience, from beginners to intermediate and advanced. This class level will include all categories of poses including inversions and back bends and will be quickly paced. Healthy beginners who would like a challenge may take this level of class.
